Enzyme Washing:

Enzyme wash is environmental friendly wash due to the natural origins of enzymes. It is also a popular garment washing process. To reduce the adverse effect of stone wash, the garments are washed by using enzymes. Enzyme breaks the surface cellulose fibers of the fabric and removes during washing. The enzymes can be stopped by changing the alkalinity of the bath or its temperature when the desired color will be achieved. During enzyme washing, certain amount of indigo dye and cellulose fibers from the surface of the fabric are removed. Rest of the processes of enzyme washing includes final rinsing and softening.

Process Flow Chart of Enzyme Washing:

Loading of garments

De-sizing

Rinse (Two times)

Addition of enzyme

Adjusting PH for Acid Cellulase or enzyme (4.5-5.5) by adding Acetic acid (CH3COOH).

Required temperature kept for different enzyme

Tumbling for 30-60 minutes (depending on shade)

Rinse (two times)

Softening

Extracting

Drying

The above all processes are discussed in the below table:

SL/No.
Process
Procedure
01
Loading of garments
At first, required amount of garments are loaded in the machine.
02
De-sizing
Garments are de-sized here by using de-sized chemical.
03
Rinse (Two times)
After completing de-size process, garments must be rinsed two times to remove size material from the garments.
04
Addition of enzyme
Here, the required amount of enzyme (Acid or neutral enzyme) should be added by following M: L ratio.
05
Adjusting PH for Acid Cellulase or enzyme (4.5-5.5) by adding Acetic acid (CH3COOH).
If acid enzyme is added in the machine, then PH should be adjusted here in the required range (4.5-5.5) by adding acetic acid (CH3COOH).
06
Required temperature kept for different enzyme
Here, required temperature should be maintained for different enzyme.
07
Tumbling for 30-60 minutes
Garments are tumbled here for 30-60 minutes which is depends on the shade.
08
Rinse (two times)
Here, the garments are rinsed for two times to remove starch from the garments.
09
Softening
Garments have produced soft effect here by using softening chemical (Anti ozone softener).
10
Extracting
After completing all the above processes, the garments are extracted here and send to the drying section.
11
Drying
Finally all the garments are dried here by using gas dryer or steam dryer(depending on the shade)
